Local historians believe there was a coach house or inn this site prior to the 1860’s, how ever more recently The New Inn can rightfully claim to be one of the first pubs in the Leeds City area to have a designated family or children’s room.
Popular belief is that the pub was built to cater for the needs of the farmers and farm labourers that toiled the land around the surrounding area.

The site of the New Inn is surrounded by over five acres of beautiful countryside, within easy reach of several country parks, narure reserves and areas of outstanding natural beauty

The New Inn serves Tetley’s drought Bitter as standard. It is rumored by some that this ale forms part of the recreational diet of the many regulars (and not so regulars) that frequent The New Inn at Eccup.
